"Steve and his subs all did a great/quality job, but very, very slowly. We contracted to have a limited kitchen and bath remodel (the cabinets stayed and were stained), and it took seven months. Granted we continued to use the kitchen during remodel, in a limited way, and Steve kept the sink functional until right before granite install. Throughout the process, there were weeks when we would be unsure what was going to happen, and when. The staining crew was especially elusive. The biggest delay, however, was getting the granite purchased and cut. The granite was two grades above what was in his contract--and we agreed to pay the difference, whenever needed--but nothing happened to get the granite to the cutter for almost three months. Also, we changed the work scope/materials for several aspects of the job; but Steve didn't ever say that would delay finish.
Steve had a vision for our kitchen remodel; and what we had done was not "his style". That could have dulled his enthusiasm for the project. Also, I believe he would have worked more quickly if he had unlimited access to the house with the homeowner gone.
In the end, we are very happy with what we did; and friends have raved about the look."
